St. Timothy’s Parish Invites You to

Join Other Parishioners to Explore Your Catholic Faith Through Small Group Discussions

Here is Your Chance to Grow in Your Catholic Faith!  Our Catholic faith lies at the heart of our lives and affects all those things that matter the most to us.  This program is designed to nourish your faith and enhance your sense of Catholic identity.  We start with the great mysteries of our faith as expressed every Sunday with the Profession of Faith.  Using an easy to read resource (which will be provided at a nominal cost), we will read, pray, share, and treasure the rich teachings of our Church, while increasing our sense of community.

What We Believ e!  A Journey Through the Catechism.  The program will explore the basic tenets of our faith--the Trinity, the Incarnation, the Pascal Mystery and much more—through a review of the Catechism of the Catholic Church.  Each week, we will read selected passages from the Bible, the Catechism and the “Why Catholic” book.  Come prepared to share and discuss your thoughts in a small group of like-minded friends.

Following the Diocese’s Call to Be Sent.  The 2010 theme of the Diocese’s Living Eucharist initiative is “Sent.”  Joining a small Christian community in the parish is a great way for you to follow the Diocesan call.  Exploring and sharing your Catholic faith with others in the parish will prepare you to live the Gospel in your everyday life and spread its good news to others. Don’t wait!  Sign up today.

Share Your Faith With Your Friends.  As recorded in Acts of the Apostles, the apostles and other Christians in the early church met in small groups where they “bore witness to the resurrection” of Jesus (Acts 5:33).  Now, two millennia later, we are called to do the same.  We are forming several small groups of 8-10 parishioners each to meet on a weekly basis through Lent (and longer if you want).   Meet with your current friends or join a new group with others from the parish.

Relaxed Atmosphere.  We encourage you to meet in the comfort of your own homes.  An informal atmosphere will foster a non-threatening way to share your faith, stimulate lively discussions, nurture friendships, and promote an effective learning experience.    If you want to meet with others you already know, let us know.
