Catholics With Cancer
Cancer is a life changing event no matter how early the diagnosis and successful the treatment. Communication with like people can be an immense help mentally which can go a long way to physical improvements. Hearing that one has cancer is devastating enough but feeling alone, with no one to turn to who understands, can be challenging mentally. Providing a forum for Catholics (or anyone else) to communicate about cancer related issues would provide a needed service while bringing people closer together and hopefully to God.
The network can provide:
- An opportunity to talk to someone
- Share challenges; medical, physical, mental, faith
- Share achievements
- Share faith at a critical time
- An opportunity to listen
- People have similar issues
- People have a need to feel they are not the only one
- An opportunity to help someone
- People just notified of cancer may need to talk to someone to help understand the next steps.
- Help deal with the loss of control
- Understand the choices based on the situation
- Family members need a place to get information and seek help in troubled times.
- An advocacy center for early screening for all types of cancer
It must be stated that this type of forum is not intended to provide any medical advice. It is a vehicle for communication for people who share a unique burden and hopefully make that journey a little bit easier.
